I will review the experiments currently ongoing in the field of High Energy Physics. I will discuss in particular the ones operating at the European Centre for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, highlighting the impact of women scientist. I will then concentrate on the discovery of the Higgs boson and its impact on the Standard Model of Particle Physic.
